Trial: Perennial

Years Trialed: 1998, 1999

Good Qualities

Year 1

Would be good filler and has a nice bloom; Pretty color, lasted well in a vase.

Year 2

Different than other liatris. I like the hairy-like blooms; Easy to grow; Nice color and flower life.

Problems

Year 1

Too short this year (4); The plants are all very small and they never seemed to do much; Plants need establishment year.

Year 2

Liatris is too ordinary. Available cheaply from any wholesaler. This is different but still liatris. Plants were put in late last year so stems were not tall. I’ll keep my eye on this. Too short and floppy; Perhaps even wimpy; Takes too many stems to make any statement.

Comments

Year 1

Plants are well established. Good potential for next year; Not a very interesting flower compared to our other Liatris.

Year 2

I liked the first year.
