Trial: Perennial
Years Trialed: 1998, 1999
Good Qualities
Year 1
Great color (6); Strong, stiff stems (2); Large flower heads (2); 'Terra Cotta' was easy to grow, had no pests and bloomed all summer; The stems are quite heavy for yarrow. Color fits in well with fall work; Foliage; More heat tolerant than 'Fireland'; Long lasting; Customers really liked this one. Just kept producing; Very tough material.Year 2
Great color (5); Large flower heads (2); Long stems, long vase life, prolific!; Length of stem; Vigorous, strong stem, excellent crisp orange color; Unusual color, good stems; Excellent product; long lasting; Strong, lots of it.Problems
Year 1
Some plants died for no explainable reason, but plants should multiply next spring; Died back after flowering.Year 2
None (2); Had to be careful to cut it when it was ready and to make sure it wasn’t left out in the sun for long as it will wilt quickly; Survival problems in late summerYear 2
Couldn’t ask for more in a plant than this one and the ‘Fireland’ both provided pretty flowers, prolific, long stems, long bloom time-----what more could you ask?; Better vase life than straight millifolium type cultivars, appears to be a cross with perhaps achillea hygetea; Better plant this year, still blooms in NovemberTrial Data

Year 1
Similar to other yarrows and 'Fireland'; This is a nice yarrow to move away from the gold-yellow form, great potential; Can't kill this stuff. Smells sage- like; Three flushes of flowers which started August 1; Good clean foliage; This plant really performs. It grows fast and is very productive. I think 'Terra Cotta' is better than 'Fireland'. Grows faster and has larger flowers; Still producing when frost came.
