Delphinium 'Clear Springs White'

Trial: Annual

Years Trialed: 1998

Good Qualities

Sturdy (4); Nice color (2); Nice form; Florets - large and evenly spaced along stem; Did well despite late start and hot temps; Excellent germination and quantity of seedlings for delphiniums; Straight stems; Good quality for first year blooms; Vigorous plant; Transplanted well

Problems

Didn't germinate well (4); Some disease susceptibility; Not quite as vigorous as Clear Springs Blue; Did not flower

Comments

Can't wait to try this again because of great results on our other Clear Springs cultivars; Ten day cold period resulted in good germination. Next year expect longer stems and more stems; Always a good market for clear white line material; Similar to 'Magic Fountain'; My customers prefer the 'Pacific Giants', as they are taller and not as compact. I found these hard to work into bouquets, as they were short and fat.
