Kniphofia Thompsonii Snowdenii

Trial: Perennial

Years Trialed: 2003, 2004

Problems

Year 1

Plants shipped late August; Very small plants.

Year 2

Since plants were very small, we grew them in pots and wintered over in cold frame, they did not survive the cold winter in frame (Zone 5); Did not bloom.

Comments

Year 1

Planted out to field 10/13/03, all vegetative growth, 15 inches; Very small fragile plants, too hot to plant outside because plants arrived in July, growing in pots; 2 plants were placed in 1 gallon pots in spring and planted out in Sept. 3.
