Limonium 'Fortress Yellow'

Trial: Annual

Year Trialed: 1998

Good Qualities

Good color (4); Prolific bloomer (2); Less browning than the many other Sinuatas we've tried over the years; Stems straighter than other varieties; Nice stem length; Bloomed early; Good strong growth; Transplants well.

Problems

Tangled stems hard to cut. Poor germination; Yellow is not a popular color - hard to market; When dried, it gets brittle faster than the other colors; No leaf disease resistance; Very uneven quality from plant to plant.

Comments

Not a bad yellow, but there are several newer yellows that are better; We've grown QIS yellow and most other yellows; this one was the best; Stems more rounded than other colors - much more marketable when dried.
