Trial: Annual
Years Trialed: 1997
Good Qualities
Gorgeous colors (4); Customers were intrigued. Vase life very acceptable; Beautiful flowers; These are pretty in the field but do not seem to hold up when cut. They tolerated frosts into November.
Problems
Slugs loved these plants more than slug bait; No postharvest handling could extend base life past 4 days; Too short at first, then almost too prolific-burned itself out as many poppies do; Heads on the small side for dried use; I don't usually have a problem planting poppies from cell packs to the field but none of these guys made it; Short stems.
Comments
Bad germination; similar to other Iceland poppies
